The Red Devils Poised to Sign German Forward Lea Schüller from the Bavarian Giants
Manchester United are finalising sealing the deal for prolific Germany forward Lea Schüller on a permanent transfer from the Frauen-Bundesliga champions.
A Major Signing for the WSL Side
Schüller, who has half a year left on her contract, has been a consistent goalscorer for both club and country. Having netted over 100 goals for the German giants and scored 54 times in 82 caps for her country. This signing will be seen as a marquee signing for the WSL side.
Departure from Munich was expected after she was seen fighting back tears while applauding the club's supporters after a win over Bayer Leverkusen this month.
It was reported in late December that the Frauen-Bundesliga was losing one of its top forwards. Per multiple sources, the formalities for the move have now been completed.
Reliable Goal Threat to Boost United's Attack
The experienced striker's arrival should represent a major boost to the team's attacking options. Schüller has been remarkably consistent with her finishing in Germany’s top flight.
- For seven straight seasons, including the most recent campaign, she reached at least a double-figures tally of league goals.
- She won the Golden Boot in 2021-22 season with 16 goals.

Securing the German international coincides with a period when the club appear to be gathering momentum.
Recent performances feature qualifying for the Champions League knockout phase playoffs in a seeded position and a win in the League Cup quarter-finals.

- The contract extension for Japanese midfielder Hinata Miyazawa, a fan favourite since joining in 2023.
On Miyazawa’s new deal, a club official commented: “Miyazawa is now a vital component to the way we play. Her footballing intelligence and technical ability allows her and the team to control and dictate play from the middle of the park.”
