Recent details have emerged concerning the tragic passing of esteemed director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their residence home on Sunday.

The Alarm

According to a report citing a family associate, a practitioner scheduled for an session was the first to notice something was wrong after not being able to enter the residence. The therapist then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.

Upon entering the residence, Romy found her father's body. Accounts indicate she then left the home distraught, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. A companion who had gone with her then dialed 911. Afterward, emergency responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Charges

Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of murder in the first degree, as well as the alleged use of a deadly weapon, said to be a knife. He is now detained and denied bail.

The anonymous source questioned several previously reported details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a detached unit on the grounds, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that moment.

Per law enforcement sources, the coroner had still not confirmed as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some media reports indicated the state of their bodies suggested they had been dead for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was apprehended at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the residence. He was due to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not been medically cleared and would not be present until Wednesday at the earliest.
